Next one is for my Instagram followers and it's for a King Klondike sketch. Simply follow me over there, reblog the giveaway photo and hashtag it #kingklondike. Easy!

Best of luck and thank you all for everything!

Three Shows = New Originals

First up, is the long awaited Joss Whedon x Gallery 1988 show which opens next Friday at their West location. They're really keeping the lid on everyone's pieces but if you look closely you might see a bit of my piece below. Since I'll be in town for my solo, I'll get to attend this show as well! Be sure to say hi :)

Opening the next night in San Francisco is Spoke Art's KUBRICK: an art show tribute. I just love "The Shining" (sorry Mr. King) and came up with "I'm Not Gonna Hurt Ya" acrylic on maple, 11" x 11" x .75". To inquire about this piece or to be put on the advance collectors preview list, simply email spokeartgallery(at)gmail

Also opening Saturday, September 6th at 7pm is Happy As Kings, my solo exhibition at Gallery Nucleus. Scott C is showing the work from his latest children's book Hug Machine in the main gallery and there will be lots of fun things to do, including giveaways throughout the night. And pizza! And ice cream! So bring the little ones and spend the evening looking at art that makes you smile. If you can't make it to the opening (or if you want a shot at buying my artwork before anyone else make sure to sign up for the advance online preview here)."King Pepi"

"King Klondike"

It's Intermission Time!

I needed a mini break from painting for my solo and decided...to paint! So I went back to food. Dancing food to be exact and what immediately came to my mind was the animation they used to play at the movies from the 50's "Let's All Go To The Lobby..." with the parade of yummy food.

So, please, sit back and relax and enjoy, "Intermission Time"!

Let's start with "Hot Diggity"

Next up is the always popular "Hot Buttered"

Then you'll surely welcome "Sweet Creamy"

Now how about a sip of "Refreshing"

And last but not least "Tasty"

All five of these pieces are acrylic on maple panels, each measuring 5" x 7". They are protected with a glossy top coat that really makes the wood grain glow.

Here's some closeups so you can see the details:

They are all titled and signed on the back with a sawtooth hanger. I would absolutely love for them to stay as a set so I'll make them available on Friday, November 1st at 3pm EDT for $800 (plus shipping). If they do not sell, the following day I will separate them and they will be available for individual purchase for $175 a piece.
**Note: These fellas are all sold and going to a good home! Thanks everyone :D***

I really hope you all enjoy these little fellows as much as I do! Thanks for reading :D

Promise

I promised another of the last two paintings I had done for Art Amsterdam, which is going on right now. I humbly present, "Make Like a Banana...". Another large one for me, 14" x 9.5". Once again my dad helped me out by cutting the plaque :)

And as an added bonus, while painting I had a thought to take photos as I went along. I always love watching progress videos and thought I'd take a shot at it. I also wanted to thank Ed for putting together all the photos into the video, complete with soundtrack, while I was sleeping. You're the best :D Please enjoy!
