"Halcyon" and Sweets

February 20, 2025

I keep coming back to this bunny image I created a few months ago. At first glance it is a dark piece, but I hope that people can see the serenity in it. I listened to atmospheric, forest sounds and gentle instrumental music while I painted and it filled me with calm. I titled it “Halcyon”. Read into it whatever you’d like, I try not to interfere with how anyone views art.

In the same week, I also painted these three fun pastries! Go figure! All four of these pieces are available in my shop.

Two New Group Shows Opening February 8!

February 4, 2025

I am so excited to let you all know that I am participating in two group shows that are both opening in Portland on February 8. Above are my paintings for Microdose 5 at Nucleus Portland. All the artwork for this show had to be 4” and under. Thus the 3” x 3” happy pastries - there’s “Dome”, “Charlotte”, “Italian Cookie” and “Panna Cotta”. There are no presales for this show but you can find all the info on their website.

The same night, Memento Mori opens at Brassworks Gallery. I have never worked with them before so I’m extra happy to have been asked to contribute. I decided that I would continue my Blue Pool Series theme, which already has a hint of memento mori in it and created “Filo Della Vita”. You can sign up for a preview on their website here.

Sunday, Snowday

January 19, 2025

It’s going to snow today. Not much, maybe a few inches, but it should be pretty as the day progresses. Since I sold all of the pastries yesterday, I am excited to make more! Got a few suggestions and requests. Earl Grey macaron will be first on my drawing board - ooooph, too bad it’s gonna snow or I’d be out buying some! Strictly for reference of course. 😏 I’m going to showcase my progress videos here as well as social media. Please enjoy the above look at the creation of Cannoli.
