I haven't been in an Urban Outfitters in just about 20 years when I attended NYU and there was one down on Sixth Ave. It was a great store.
While wandering Red Bank the other night waiting for a friend's show to open we came upon the brand new (huge!) Urban Outfitters smack dab in the center of town. It was still cool.
I just checked and "Happy Birthday" made it onto the Urban Outfitters blog today.
Bizarre.
And very cool.
Thanks UO.
Got a lovely email from Melly who bought "Pink Eye". She sent along these pics of her pet rabbit, Pixel, checking it out. I mean, how much does Pixel look like Pink Eye? It's crazy!
That eye is just dead on! Check out Melly's blog, Geektastic.org as she was also super sweet to write a little something about my artwork. :D
is one of the most adorable things on this planet Earth. I've seen her work all over the place and finally decided that I needed to profess my love of all things Twinkie-Chan! Not only is she herself a cutie pie but she makes such amazingly cute things I can hardly stand it. Oh and everything is food themed. Yay, yay and yay again!
This is her modeling the radish scarf that is currently up for sale in her Etsy shop. Visit all her sites and you'll see what I'm talking about.
http://www.twinkiechan.com Her main site with everything she's doing and has done or will do :D
http://ieatyuckystuff.blogspot.com/ her blog about all the wild, wacky things she eats complete with adorable pics
I'm going to bite his little head off !!!!(this is a good thing. When there is something so cute you can't stand it, say you're going to roll it up in a tortilla and bite it's head off. As in this pic

So I just found Skunkboy Creatures via Shanalogic and I was torn on which of her cute creations to bite but finally decided on Suzette the Little Grey Elephant.
Hand made of vintage materials -- I'm dying here! There are only a few things that get to me. Suzette got me! Kudos to Katie for making such adorable plushes. Visit her Etsy and blog and give her a little love.
I made a leap a couple months ago and actually went out into the great unknown in hopes of trying to promote myself. Ed and I went to Asbury Park as it's a hotbed of galleries and shops. In a lovely series of events we were able to sit down and meet Jenn at Parlor Gallery. What a lovely gal. Actually everyone we meet in Asbury is gracious and kind. Odd for New Jersey. Maybe it's the ocean air that relaxes people.
So Jenn at Parlor Gallery asked Ed and I to join in their Holiday Art Show opening up next week, Friday, December 11th at 7pm. How cool is that? All the art is going to be specially priced under $500 and there'll be a DJ and food and drinks and Ed and I :D
This is the largest piece that I've done to date. A whopping 11" x 11", it's called "A Cold Day"

If you are anywhere in the area stop by, say hello, see some art, buy some art and I'm sure you'll fall in love with Asbury Park (if you haven't already).
...at the bottom of the sea. The Census of Marine Life "is a ten-year effort among marine biologists around the world to catalog and understand ocean life. More than 210 expeditions will examine and document the 95 percent of Earth's oceans that remain relatively unexplored. A final report will be unveiled in October 2010. " - National Geographic
Below is a see through sea cucumber that was recently discoverd on one of these expeditions.
I can't wait until the whole report comes out.
They just finished the census! Visit The Census of Marine Life for lots of info and pics on what they found :D
