Sanrio 50th

This week is Sario's big 50th anniversary celebration at Small Gift LA. There's an amazing art show as well which includes work from Eric Joyner, Nouar, Gary Baseman and Joe Ledbetter to name just a few of the 50 artists involved.  It reminded me of two commissions that I did last year and never posted.

"Hello Candy" acrylic on wood

"My Sweet Melody" acrylic on wood

Maybe if I keep at this art thing I might get invited to the 75th anniversary ;)

Ahhhh....

I'm finally getting back to being able to look around the web and one of my favorite places to visit is Super Punch, by the awesome and generous John Struan. He rounds up such amazing art every day, from book covers to buildings. Well that's only the b's but you get the point. I went there today and found this:

A building in Taipei decorated with Friends With You.

I wouldn't mind waking up to that view every morning :) Thanks John.

Finally!

Pet portraits that I can get behind.

Lili Chin has been so wonderful to me in the past, it's finally my turn to reciprocate. She has been drawing pet portraits and donating 20% of the proceeds to Boston Buddies, a Boston Terrier rescue in Southern California.

But maybe you would rather have your portrait money go to another rescue, you say? She'll donate to any rescue you want and her drawings are amazing. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she shows you step by step how she makes each portrait and what you will get for your money. I mean, for one pet, her price is $100! and you get an 8" x 10" signed print and the high-resolution file for more printouts! You won't find a better deal than this, I'm telling you :D

So go over to Doggie Drawings and order up a portrait of your pet and your $ will go to the shelter of your choice.

Happy New Year!

Once again...

I love my husband. He's amazing. He puts up with me. He loves me. We just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary (we got married at DisneyWorld)

and I honestly love him more today than the day I married him, which, frankly, seems impossible that my heart is capable of that much love (in a good way!).

Last year Ed got Papper Och Penna to design my name just for him:

So he could have it tattooed on the back of his noggin'.

So why not take a look at my husband. He's funny, writes about cool things and draws like a m*tha-f* --Shut your mouth!

xoxo,

Kris

The Love of My Life

is Ed Mironiuk. Why should you care? Well I guess it doesn't really matter, but it makes me smile every damn day. HE makes me smile every damn day. He gets me laughing so hard with some quick comment that I can't breathe. He inspires me and loves me and makese me keep on going when things look pretty damn bleek.

And he's an amazing artist. I'm very proud of him and everything he does and I would, if financially viable, watch him work all day.

He's just gotten his website updated and all pretty and I thought I'd introduce you guys.
