November 20 , 2006 Hey all! Here's a picture of the four minis that I'll have for sale at Felt Club XL(see below entry for detail link). There's miniature Gingerbreadman, Marshy, mini Discorilla and mini Tiki. They all measure 8 inches across. I made ten of each and they will be $20 a piece, $19 a piece if you buy two, $18 a piece if you buy three and $17 a piece if you buy four or more. And you won't have to pay for shipping!

| November 1 , 2006 Hey all! Hope you're not too full from last night's candy orgy. I'm busy, busy, busy here sewing up minis galore! I've been invited to be a vendor at Felt Club XL Holiday on December 9th. I will be sharing a table with the lovely and talented MaryJane's Attic who will also be selling for me since it's in Los Angeles and I'm stuck in NJ. When I come back from my little vacation next week I'll be sure and post some pics of the minis I'll be selling there. Whatever doesn't sell will go up on the shop page lickety split so you can get your hands on some goodies before the holidays. I will also be showing an original piece (and an absolute one-of-a-kind!) at Soft Sell at DvA Gallery in Chicago on December 9th as well. This is being headed up by the amazing Shawn Smith of Shawnimals and will feature 30 plush artists. I will post pics of this guy when I come back as well. Hmm, what else? I was written up in two lovely blogs, MixedPlate and Modish . They are great indie product resources that you should really check out. That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| September 14, 2006 I'm working on some new designs and hope to have them up in the shop soon. Pumpkin will be back October 1st and Gingerbreadman will reappear sometime around the end of November. I've had some requests for a mini version of him so I'll try and work one up. Also wanted to let everyone know that I'm available for commissions. Check out my LJ here to see my newer works that I don't always put up on this site. There's also some regular old boring posts about nothing but I think you can handle it. I've been selected to be in 'dot dot dash' a book of contemporary characters. Check out the publishers site here. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| July 2, 2006 Been too long since I've been here, so here's the poop -- Woofman has some newer fur, longer and softer than the first. Zombie is back with his newly exposed brain and I finally switched around the photo album so all new entries will be added to the front page. It's been a hot and humid spring and beginning of summer here in New Jersey so I've been torn between wanting to go to the beach, mall or simply stay inside with the AC on. Typically staying home with the AC has won out. Not much else is new so it's back to the drawing board for more inspiration. Have a great summer! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| May 28, 2006 Yay!!!The newly designed shop is finally here! It's a straightforward design that I hope everyone will love. It took a bit for me to teach myself Dreamweaver but it finally clicked. I made a few decisions along the way. First, I'm putting Pumpkin aside until Halloween and sticking Woofman in his place. He seems to be the favorite of all the new designs I've made. Zombie still isn't ready but I'm hopeful that this is the week he will reappear for good! I also highlighted my CafePress shop a bit more, I really like all the stickers and t-shirts so give it a shot and check it out. Other than that it's been busy and I'm plugging along with sewing and designing. I really have to try and start making a bunch of plushes cause I'm feeling this fall is going to be crazy for some reason. I hope that you all are having a great spring and Memorial Day (assuming you're in the states!) or wherever you are! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| February 27, 2006 Plush Week was great. Met alot of great people and saw some wonderful plushes. Stayed at the Beverly Hilton where the big pre-Grammy party was happening. So as Ed and I were getting our rockin' Ford Focus rental from the valet to go to the show, the Maybachs and Aston Martins were pulling up for the red carpet. We even sat at the table next to none other than Barry Manilow at dinner the night before at Trader Vics. I love LA. Kinda tough being back in Jersey with snow. At least I have my two chihuahuas and my plushes to keep me warm. Will keep you all posted when I have more time on what else is going on... | |||||||||||||||||||||
| February 4, 2006 Well I am about to fly out to Los Angeles for the Plush Week! show at Gallery 1988 where I will be a part of the show. I'm really looking forward to meeting all the other plush artists I have been admiring, some for years, some for a few months. This will slow done plush production a bit as I will be out of town for the whole week and will NOT be bringing my sewing machine with me :) So try to stay strong without me for this week, I will return and will be getting ready for the next two shows (minis, did someone say minis?). Good luck, I know you can do it! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| January 17, 2006 Hey all, how's the new year treating you? I've been busy as heck and there's no sign of stopping. Got 5 new designs done for the LA show and really want to make 4 more but my real work is taking precedence right now. Coming right on the heels is the Seattle show which I still haven't decided on/worked on which plushes to miniaturize. Then I got confirmation for a show in Montreal, sometime in March at Madame Edgar's Gallery. It will be called 'Amours de chiffon'. I'll be one of only 16 artists asked to contribute. I'm truly flabbergasted that I've been asked to show at these galleries with people I've been looking up to. Ugly Dolls and Friends with You are both going to be doing installations. Blobby Farm, My Paper Crane and Creature Co-Op are going to have 'products', like me. There's so many wonderful artists I may have to finagle a trip to Montreal. Anyway, just wanted to keep whoever's reading informed on what's happening. Hope some of you will be at the LA show so I can meet some of my fans in person. Hugs and kisses to all. Now get back to work | |||||||||||||||||||||
| January 1, 2006 Hey all! Well things have been confirmed and here's the scoop -- I will be participating in Heart Felt at Plastic Passion Toys in Seattle starting March 17th. This is one of the coolest shops I've seen yet. There are so many items that I haven't seen anywhere else. Check them out and bring your wallet. Looks like I'll enter 3 (?) regular sized plushes with a slew of minis (exclusive to the show) to go with them. I was also asked to be a part of Plush Nation at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles from Feb 7th to the 14th. Jon M. Gibson is the curator and comes off of putting together the amazing iam8bit show. I'm working up as many totally new designs (just for the show) and a few color swaps with current designs as I can think of. Heard that Anna Chambers is one of the stars -- oooh goody! I hope I don't flake out when I meet her. I tend to do that with people I admire and it sucks! I made the hard decision of going to LA instead of Seattle (have a few more friends there) for the Plush Nation show so if anyone is in town stop by the gallery Feb 7th from 8-11pm and I'll be there nervous and twirling my hair. I also have another show that is still in the works, won't say anymore until it's definite. What a crazy couple of weeks this has been! It's been a wonderful excuse to buy lots and lots of fabric. I hope that I can keep up with it. Lots to do so have a great New Year! Thanks. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| December 23, 2005 Things have been busy here, what with the holidays and all, but wanted to take a minute to say thank-you to everyone who's visited my site, bought a plush, or just given me general encouragement throughout the past couple of months. Everybody I've met through this venture has been super cool. Gingerbreadman and Snowman are being featured on the front page of Blue Blood, due to the niceness of Amelia G and Forrest Black. They are two of the nicest people around and seem to really enjoy the dolls. Look for a new plush to be worked into a giveaway with them in the beginning of the new year. I've also been contacted by two people to do two different plush shows in Feb. I won't say more, but I'm super excited by both of them. I'm hoping to work a trip to the West Coast for at least one of them. Also got the guts to contact John Murphy of Stupid Sock Creatures after I bought his book. He's been on my favorites list for a couple of years now and I just had to tell him how great I thought his book and creatures were. He got back to me within minutes and gave me some awesome feedback on my own plushes. Again a wonderful, artistic person who was nice and giving. I guess I'm so used to living in Jersey where people will go out of their way to give you a hard time (don't get me wrong, I do love it here, it's the people I don't care for). Although lately strangers have been overly nice to us too. Maybe people are starting to realize that it takes more work to be mean than to be nice. Maybe that's my Christmas gift from the universe -- people will be nice to me for one month. Let's hope it lasts longer. I hope that everyone has a great holiday this year, be it Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa and very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! Stick with me, there's lots more where this came from! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| December 7, 2005 The Plush Rush show went off without a hitch, I'm told and thus my first gallery showing came and went. I'm bummed I didn't get to go in person but Jenny Harada took lots of pics you can view on the Plush Rush site. I've put up a few of the plushes on Etsy (all handmade items, from paintings to soap to yarn to toys...) where you can list any handmade item for 10 cents. Gingerbreadman was lucky enough to be one of the featured items on the front page this week and has been getting a whole lot of views. Thanks to Caterina Fake who did the picking. Also was contacted by the lovely and talented Shanalyn Victor of PixelgirlShop to put some of the plushes on her site for sale. She got them in, photographed (beautifully, I might add) and put up on the shop in a day. Check all three of these links out, it'll do ya some good! Enjoy! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| November 19, 2005 Well the snow has come early this year, after a very warm fall here in Cuddly Rigor Mortis-land. The Weather Channel has said that it's supposed to continue through mid-January. The nine characters have decided that in honor of the upcoming holidays they would do some baking and playing in the snow. Two special holiday editions have come out of that -- Snowman and Gingerbreadman! But they're a little off in true Cuddly Rigor Mortis fashion - Gingerbreadman has a bite out of his head and Snowman...well, he's got a little yellow snow on his one foot. No one's owning up to it, so we'll blame it on the dog. Enjoy as usual and check them out! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| November 14, 2005 Just took some new beauty shots of Bat, Frank, Gimp, Tiki and Zombie. The prototypes were a little lopsided and I've updated some colors and fabrics so now what you see on the details page of every plush is pretty much what you're going to get. I had some special requests for Tiki and Zombie and I might have some fabric leftover if anyone is interested...drop me a line. Also wanted to let everyone know that very soon I will be featuring two holiday special editions. Something that the little guys said they wanted to do for all their fans out there. I also heard some murmurings that Mummy might be pregnant! Don't know what that's all about since I thought Mummy was a guy, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. That's all for now. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| October 31, 2005 Happy Halloween everyone! a quick little oil painting I did in between sewing. I hope to do more in the future. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| October 22, 2005 I was chosen as a New and Notable site this week by the great editors over at Yahoo! and listed on the MyYahoo! main page. Thanks to gwenzilla on LJ for sending me a screengrab of the page. It's been very overwhelming but awesome to see how many people love these little guys. Thanks to whoever it was at Yahoo! for seeing something in nine cute characters I make in my dining room. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| October 19, 2005 Just put up a huge LiveJournal posting about all the cool stuff I received this week so far. Too much to put here so check out Cuddlyrigormort on LJ. So many cool goodies! I'm feeling so good I decided to give everyone a $5 discount on all plushes and purses for the rest of this month! I don't know what's come over me...And remember folks -- if you have any ideas for me or suggestions, drop me a line. Who knows you might get something cool out of it... | |||||||||||||||||||||
| October 9, 2005 Creature is brand new and up for sale in the shop! Well he's the same inside but outside he's new and spiffy with a snakeskin suit and satin details. I think he's very handsome. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| October 4, 2005 Just got word that Creature, Mummy, Tiki and Zombie made it into Pictoplasma's latest site update. If you're interested in checking them out go here. I'm listed under K for Kristin Tercek. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| September 22, 2005 Ahh the first day of fall and my shop is finally open. After a week of puttering around with shopping carts and shipping preferences and paypal accounts, I think it all works. I decided to make everything made to order so that way the shop goes up faster. Thanks to Lenora Claire who works over at Frontiers Magazine for considering me for their mag. It made me think of something small I could add to my press kit -- so I came up with 3 mini-purses. They are super cute, if I don't say so myself. They took me quite some time to figure out how to make them but I think they're worth it. Now on to production and hopefully a few orders! (fingers crossed!) | |||||||||||||||||||||
| September 4, 2005 Just finished 5 Pumpkins and ordered up some embroidered tags to sew on all the plush. Should take about two weeks. As soon as I get the tags in I'll sew them on and I can start to sell them. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| August 29, 2005 Holy Cow! I just checked my email and found out I was accepted into Plush Rush! It was created by the lovely and talented Jenny Harada and Rita Volpi and is being held at Acme Art Company Dec 3rd in Columbus, Ohio. Three of my pieces are going in, so check out the Plush Rush website and buy some plush before the long cold winter sets in. I have slowly willed myself back into sewing and should have some plushes up for sale in the next couple of weeks...maybe three...stay tuned... | |||||||||||||||||||||
| August 22, 2005 Hot and sticky again, but I just got a big package of stuff in the mail. Business cards, letterhead, and from Cafe Press some stickers and a tshirt. I wasn't sure how the quality would be from them but it looks great. I decided that in between looking for a screen printer I'll put some shirts on CafePress. The cap T's are my personal favorites. So check out the shop. On the plush note, I was back in JoAnn Fabrics the other day and I've started to amass some fabric that I'll need for making these guys. I have a bit of work to do this week but I'll be back at the sewing maching sooner than you can say, well, I don't know what, but it's gonna be quick! Check back soon for more updates... | |||||||||||||||||||||

The website is now a whole 7 days old and I've been getting a lot more hits than I expected, so thanks to all of you who stopped by. A great big hug to a really cool blog,
Ektopia, who was kind enough to take an unsolicited look at the site and write a reveiw. I also want to thank Victoria over at
All Things Kawaii for listing me on her site. I wouldn't have any hits if it weren't for these two nice people. I also wanted to tell everyone that I joined
LiveJournal and will be putting some cute cartoons or extra info about the cuddly rigor mortis guys there, along with some stupid stuff that catches my eye. Right now there isn't much new but check back -- heck join LJ and befriend me! I'd love to know that I'm doing something right, or wrong for that matter. Thanks to all, Kris |
